Embargo policy - Press

Embargo policy.

GrantsProof publishes selectively. When we share material under embargo, the terms below apply by default.

What we share under embargo

  • Pre-announcement product launches (new SKUs, new jurisdictions, new fiduciary partners)
  • Material technical milestones (mainnet anchoring activations, council membership, audit certifications)
  • Patent grants and major regulatory approvals once the underlying filings are public
  • Aggregate platform metrics (verification volume, jurisdictional spread) at quarterly cadence

What we do not share under embargo

  • Information on specific foundations or grantees, including names of pending applicants or audit findings
  • Bad-Actor Registry contents beyond what is already public on the registry page
  • Pending recovery cases, including the existence of a pending case
  • Commercial terms with named foundations (engagement size, fee structure, contract dates)
  • Internal operational metrics that could reveal foundation-specific behavior

Standard terms

Unless otherwise negotiated, embargoed material is shared under these terms:

  1. Time-bound.The embargo lifts at a stated UTC time. Publication before lift forfeits future embargoed access for the publication.
  2. Verbatim quotation. Quotes are on-the-record and verbatim; no paraphrasing of quoted material without prior approval.
  3. Pre-publication factual review. If the journalist offers, we review for factual accuracy only - not for tone or angle - and respond within 24 hours.
  4. Source acknowledgment.First mention is "GrantsProof, the philanthropic-integrity platform from JIL Sovereign". Subsequent mentions may be "GrantsProof".
  5. Corrections. Material factual errors are corrected promptly upon notice; we do not negotiate angle or characterization.
  6. No exclusivity unless agreed.Embargoed material is shared simultaneously with all credentialed-press recipients.

Off-the-record and background

We engage on background and off-the-record selectively. Default ground rules:

  • On the record- default.
  • Background - attribution to "a person familiar with the platform's roadmap" or similar; not used for material claims.
  • Off the record- cannot be published or used to confirm other reporting.
  • Deep background - context only; cannot be cited.

Corrections

Material factual errors in published coverage should be reported to [email protected]. We respond within one business day with primary-source documentation supporting the correction request.

Press credentials

We work with credentialed press from publications with editorial-independence policies and a corrections record. We do not engage with content-marketing channels, sponsored-content publications, or affiliate-incentivized outlets under press terms.
